We focus on inter-disciplinary topics among physics, materials, and photonics (please refer to RESEARCH section). Our areas of current research encompass the broad fields of structure growth, plasmonics, and device fabrication, especially in the nano scale. Our team consists of undergraduate and graduate students, Ph.D. students, and a PI. We have weekly lab meetings and also have frequent discussions along with collaborators.

Chien-Chih Lai received his Ph.D. degree in Photonics at the National Taiwan University in 2010, for which he was awarded the 1st Ph.D. Dissertation Medal (The Optical Engineering Society of Taiwan). He joined the National Dong Hwa University in 2012, and is currently joint associate professor, both in Physics Department & Opto-Electronic Engineering Department. He has authored more than 70 high-impact papers and holds 4 patents in the fields of fiber lasers and nanospectroscopy. He has received over 10 major fundings since 2012.
